Volunteer

At Oaken Grove Community Centre we rely on the support and dedication of our invaluable volunteers.

Whether you are a long-standing volunteer at Oaken Grove, or thinking about volunteering for this first time, please get in touch to find out how you can support the running of Oaken Grove Community Centre and in turn, the local community.

Volunteering Opportunities

We have a lot planned for 2025 but here are some key dates where we could use a bit of help:
  • Saturday 12th July – Haxby Carnival – are you free to help set up, run or pack away our stall at the Carnival this summer?
  • Volunteer Bookkeeper Role – we are looking for a Volunteer Bookkeeper to support the Treasurer.  This is a flexible role that can easily fit around your other commitments. If you’ve got a few hours a week to spare and a head for numbers, we’d love to hear from you.  More information can be found by clicking here.

If you would like more information, please contact the Community Services Manager on 01904 769176 or by emailing info@hwyca.co.uk.

Volunteer Fundraising Team

  • Are you passionate about providing quality activities for young people in Haxby and Wigginton?
  • Are you the parent of a Year 6 pupil who is moving up to secondary school in September?
  • Do you have skills or PTA acquaintances who might want to work together to help us raise money for Oaken Grove Community Centre?

If so, our Volunteer Fundraising Team needs you!

Haxby & Wigginton Youth & Community Association is a small local charity responsible for managing and maintaining Oaken Grove Community Centre, providing high-quality services and facilities for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities within the local area. HWYCA also run a youth provision, providing regular activities for young people in Haxby and Wigginton

To help support this work, HWYCA are looking to create a team of proactive individuals who can work together to create fundraising activities and events at Oaken Grove Community Centre, supported by our Community Services Manager.
